Accessibility Statement

• Semantic structure

  Pages use real landmarks and headings rather than styled containers, so assistive technology can navigate the document as a document.

• Keyboard access

  Every interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and a skip link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.

• Visible focus

  Focus is always visible, with a consistent outline and offset across the whole site, rather than being removed for the sake of appearance.

• Colour contrast

  The lightest grey used for text is chosen to meet at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against every background used on the site. Lighter tones are reserved for decorative rules and dots, never for text.

• Responsive layout

  The site is built to work from 320 pixels wide upwards without horizontal scrolling, and to remain usable when text is enlarged.

• Reduced motion

  Every animation path respects the operating system setting for reduced motion. With that setting on, content appears without movement rather than being delayed by it.

• Images and icons

  Meaningful images carry alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise.

• Forms

  Fields have visible, associated labels, errors are announced and described in text rather than by colour alone, and focus moves to the first field that needs attention.

The site is designed and built with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in mind, at the AA level. We use automated checks and manual keyboard testing as part of the build.

We have not commissioned an independent accessibility audit, and we do not hold any accessibility certification. We are not claiming full conformance, because that claim would need verification we have not obtained.

Some issues may exist that we have not found. Areas where problems are most likely:

• Content or components added after this statement was last reviewed
• Third-party services embedded in the site in future, such as a scheduling tool, which we do not control
• Combinations of browser, assistive technology and operating system we have not been able to test
• Large decorative headings, which are visually dramatic and may render differently at extreme zoom levels

If you hit any of these, or something else entirely, we want to hear about it.

Where a service operated by another company is embedded or linked, its accessibility is determined by that company. We will raise problems with them and, where a service repeatedly falls short, we will look for an alternative or provide another way to complete the same task.

If any part of this site is difficult to use, tell us what happened, which page it was on, and what you were using at the time. A short description is enough. If you need information from this site in another format, ask and we will send it.

We read every message and respond as quickly as we reasonably can. Where a fix will take time, we will tell you what we are doing and offer another way to get what you needed.

This statement is reviewed when the site changes materially and when feedback tells us something here is no longer accurate. The dates at the top of this page reflect the current version.
