This page explains what cookies are, what this website currently uses, and what it deliberately does not. It is written to be checked against reality rather than to cover every possibility in advance.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, do comparable things. They can remember a preference, keep a session working, or record how a site is used.

Cookies are described as first-party when they are set by the site you are visiting, and third-party when they are set by another service loaded within it.

What this website currently uses

This website does not set cookies from our own code. We do not run analytics, advertising, remarketing, social media or profiling trackers on it, and no measurement script is loaded when you visit.

There is one third-party element on the site: our booking page embeds Calendly's scheduling calendar so you can pick a time without leaving joinnorth.in. That embed is the scheduling function itself rather than a tracker, it loads only on the booking page, and Calendly may set its own cookies inside it under Calendly's terms. Every other page loads nothing from anyone else.

That is why you are not being shown a consent banner. A banner that asks permission for tracking that does not exist is theatre, and we would rather tell you plainly. If we ever add analytics or anything similar, this page changes first, and we will ask for consent where consent is required.

Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary technology to deliver and secure the site, for example to route requests and to protect against abuse. That is part of serving a web page rather than a way of tracking you across the internet.

In plain English

No analytics. No advertising trackers. One scheduling embed, on the booking page only, because that page exists to let you book a time.

The categories, and where we stand on each

  • Strictly necessary

    Needed for the site to work and to stay secure, including request routing and abuse prevention by our hosting provider. These cannot meaningfully be switched off without breaking the site.

  • Preference

    Remember a choice you made, such as a language or a dismissed message. This site does not currently set any.

  • Analytics

    Measure how many people visit and which pages they read. Not in use on this site today.

  • Performance

    Measure loading speed and errors so problems can be found. Not in use on this site today beyond the ordinary server logs described in our Privacy Policy.

  • Advertising and third-party tracking

    Follow visitors across sites to target advertising. We do not use these, and we have no plans to.

Third-party services and embeds

A service embedded in a page can set cookies of its own. Calendly's scheduler is embedded on our booking page and may do so while you are choosing a time. It is the only embed on the site.

The services below are not embedded here at all. They are listed so this page stays honest about what could change. We will update it before any of them loads in your browser:

When you follow a link from this site to another service, that service's own cookie and privacy practices apply from the moment you arrive. We have no control over them.

Managing cookies

Your browser gives you control over cookies regardless of what any website says. The controls sit in browser settings, usually under privacy or site data.

  1. Open your browser settings and find the privacy or site data section.
  2. Review the cookies and site data currently stored.
  3. Block, allow or clear cookies for a specific site, or for all sites.
  4. Set a rule for future visits, including blocking third-party cookies by default.

You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when you close it.

If you disable cookies

Because this site does not depend on cookies for anything you do here, blocking them should not stop you reading pages or sending an enquiry. Blocking cookies more broadly may affect other websites, and it may affect third-party services such as a scheduling tool if we add one later.

If this changes

If we introduce anything that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page first, name the tool, say what it collects, and, where consent is required, ask for it before the tool loads.

Any consent mechanism we build will offer accept, reject and manage as equally available choices, with nothing optional selected in advance.
